(DALIANNEWS)- A delegation led by Cyrus Habib, Lieutenant Governor of Washington, USA, visited Dalian, a port city of Northeastern China’s Liaoning Province, September 12, 2017, discussing the new approach of cooperation and exchange in clean energy and energy storage.
Xiao Shengfeng, Mayor of Dalian, extended a warm welcome to the delegation and also introduced the city’s economic and social development especially the energy storage industry.
“Dalian has established sound cooperation relations with the economic and business circles of the USA. There are over 1,600 USA-invested companies in Dalian including Intel, Dell, Goodyear, IBM, Pfizer, Walmart and Accenture, making great contribution to the city’s economic and social development. Dalian and Washiongton also maintains a close economic and trade relation. In April this year, Port of Dalian opened a sea route to Seattle, expanding channels for further exchange and cooperation between the two cities.”, said Xiao Shengfeng, Mayor of Dalian.
“We hope that both sides could promote further cooperations in economic and trade, aviation, port, tourism, hi-tech, culture, education, sports and other fields. We will continue to actively create an international business environment, building a win-win cooperation platform for enterprises in both Dalian and Washington.”, Mayor Xiao added.
“There are lots of similarities between Dalian and Washington.”, said Cyrus Habib, Lieutenant Governor of Washington. “We’d like to deepen further cooperations in marine project, urban construction, clean energy, teenager exchange and other fields.”
Cyrus Habib also expressed that they would learn the successful experiences and practices of developing energy storage industry from Dalian, and actively promote further cooperation between the companies in this field both in Dalian and Washington, making a due contribution to promote the green development of world economy.
